In the programming department we are responsible for developing new exciting video games for players worldwide. Internally we are responsible for developing the tools and technology used by our designers and artists that interface with game engines. We assure that throughout all developments the highest production standards and visual fidelity on any given platform are maintained. Your role:


As Programmer, you’ll be working in a team of developers to realize modern videogame products. Depending on your focus and skills, you’ll be either working on game engine such Unreal or Unity, or developing the tools and implement gameplay mechanics that make AAA videogames great.

To be successful in this role programmers need to demonstrate a good sense of logic, analytical and reasoning skills, critical thinking ability, an ability to effectively solve problems.

Responsibilities:


  • Work with other programmers to design the game code and contribute to technical design documentation
  • Working on game engines
  • Debugging code and polishing feature sets
  • Implementing gameplay mechanics
  • Developing software tools for videogame creation
  • Must design and document created tools to make it possible for designers and artists to understand and utilize them
  • Continuously learning and improving
  • Collaborate with Design, Art, Production, on game products and work well with other departments
  • Working in a neat and organized fashion
  • Thorough approach to problem solving and able to function independently when required
  • Attention to detail is essential and all tasks must be carried out to the highest standard
  • Optimizing code to ensure good performance

Requirements:


  • A high level of computer literacy
  • Good debugging skills
  • Ability to code and develop top quality games
  • Motivation to finish projects
  • Good communication skills
  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or relevant experience
  • Creative and responsible, able to meet goals and commitments
  • Focus on C++ and Windows API/DirectX or C# (.net implementations)
  • Can work in Java- and Unrealscript or Mel- and MAXscript
  • Must be willing to learn, expand, and grow into higher roles

Pluses:


  • Solid understanding of rendering and functionality of major engines, such as UE, and/or Unity
  • Knowledge of current game coding techniques such as collision, memory management, and AI an advantage
  • Experience with XNA, Sharepoint, Kismet, Ogre or Infernal are a plus
  • Understanding of AI principles, basic graphics programming, 3D math, physics, sound programming, collision systems, path-finding algorithms and game design theory
  • Solid understanding of graphics APIs, 3D concepts, physics, and the ability to implement them into a game
  • Ability to constructs tools to help the artists and game designers interface with the engine
  • Ability to designs plug-ins for graphics software to help artists integrate textures and backgrounds into the game
  • A strong understanding of the game engine, and a good knowledge of the target systems (PC, or one of the consoles)
  • Knowledge of user interface design
