JOB DESCRIPTION

In addition to the training and requirements of general 3D Artists, Character Artists must have specializations within their field, ranging from added attention to biology-related aspects such as anatomy and proportions, as well as understanding the special need for stand-alone expressiveness that characters have (must look good with nothing else around them). These artists face a specific challenge of creating characters that appear living and believable, producing consistent high quality art, with the available tools and according to client specifications.

We are looking for people who have….

Extensive experience with 3D and 2D graphics authoring programs (3DS Max, Zbrush, Photoshop…).
Experience in rigging, skinning and animation.
Extensive experience in low and high-poly organic modeling.
Can effectively visualize a 3D representation out of 2D source material
Ability to quickly and effectively translate, interpret and visualize verbal and pictorial references of varying detail.
Ability to create characters (humans and creatures) in a variety of artistic styles ranging from photo-realistic to cartoony.
Understanding of anatomy, proportions and the importance of silhouette.
Traditional sculpting skills are highly valuable, as well as experience in biology/character related traditional art production.
Experience in 2D concept art and texturing extremely valuable plus.

Your responsibilities include…

Modeling characters based on art direction and design briefings.
Producing characters within the technical constraints of the piece/project, following client requirements and fitting within the larger vision and art direction of the project.
Ensuring full functionality of the models as they leave your hands to be worked on by animators or integrated in-game.
We prefer applicants who are residents or have a work permit within the EU.
